Black and White - sorta

So I had these studies left around from my previous art class, and I was thinking 'These look nice - I'll turn them into pixels'. Unfortunately, I have no scanner, so my only means of doing so is a digital camera. Because of this, though these images are all black and white in reality, the colors didn't convert quite right. So I played around with the adjustment options in Photoshop to make em presentable. Is that cheating? I don't think I care.

A study in proper shading, using a paper fortune-teller.

A study of a bizarre mushroom, including a cross-section and a friendly reminder not to ingest.

A semi-continuous line drawing

The same negative-space drawing assignment that every art student ever has to do, though I had fun with this one.

For reals this time

So at long last it is summer, and for the moment I have ample amounts of free time on my hands. I thank you all who decided to stick around to see if anything would become of this blog; now I promise to do my best to fill the space with some cool stuff. And so the theme of today is: lightbulbs. As photography is all about capturing light, having a light source as the main subject was fun to play around with.

The Beatles vs. Pretty Lights

Eleanor Rigby by The Beatles mashed-up with Gazing at the Glare by Pretty Lights.

Once I discovered how well these tracks managed to sync, I couldn't stop until I had a (mostly) finished track. There are flaws, but it works. Everything was done with Virtual Dj, with the recording of the mixing unedited.

In the beginning...

...there was a photo dump - and it was good, as it got the ball rolling:

So there you have some of my best pictures from the last three years.
Enjoy.
